La-Liga outfit confirms interest in signing in Real Madrid’s Jese Rodriguez
Espanyol are interested in signing Real Madrid’s Jese Rodriguez, according CEO Roman Robert.
Despite of one of the brightest prospect coming from the Real Madrid youth ranks, Jese has struggled to established himself as a starter under current Los Blancos setup.
Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Alvaro Morata, which will put Jese further down to the pecking orders, and Espanyol will provide Spanish star first team football.

“I don’t know whether he would be an Espanyol player or not, but I do know that this is not close to being done.”
While, Robert says that club also wants to keep Real Madrid attacking midfielder Marco Asensio for another year, after he spent last season at Espanyol on loan.
Last week, Asensio insisted that he is ready to play for Real Madrid, after having much needed first team experience.

“We would love to have had Marco continue at Espanyol. We hope he returns and if he doesn’t we will have to cover that position.
“We are very happy with his development and he is an option we would love to have.”
We have the challenge of having a good season and that is why we are looking for players who can work well with us.
“What I can say is that this team is being put together with players who will give us guarantees that they will make us enjoy football and so that the fans won’t suffer.”
He added: “We don’t have a set budget for transfers. We are evaluating many opportunities, some require spending and others are free transfers.
“We know what kind of team we want for next season so that we can make a difference. If we find someone who will give us a good chance to do that, we won’t let them escape.”
