However, Susana Monje has told the press, this is not the case.

“The renewal of Neymar is a sports issue that’s not within the economic sphere. [Neymar’s departure is] a scenario we are not contemplating,” the Barcelona chief said during a press conference, as quoted by Sport.

“The level of spending on wages are under our control. Last year it was 73% of the total turnover [of the club] as a result of the treble and premiums and transfers due to Fifa sanctions,” she added. “The idea is to place the ratio between 55% and 70%. There is room to have not only two or three of the best players in the world, but also twelve, thirteen or fourteen.”
