Liverpool defender heaps praise on Real Madrid’s Bale for his match-winning display in Euros
Martin Skrtel says that Slovakia failed to deal with threat posed by Real Madrid’s Bale in their 2-1 defeat against Wales in the opening fixture of Group B.
Bale opened the scoring for Wales with a free-kick, and Slovakia found it hard to contain him for the most part of the game.

“You know the key if you play against him, you know his skill in the free kick and you cannot make the fouls around the box and we made one, and he took a free kick and scored a goal,” the Liverpool defender told reporters after the game.
“He showed his class in that situation. Obviously he’s a world class player and it showed on the pitch.”
“We expected exactly the style of how they played today, because obviously we knew they have a Bale and they try to play everything through him and exactly that happened. Unfortunately we couldn’t conrtol the situation and conceded two goals and lost the game.

While, Wales manager Coleman. hailed the courage of his team, as moved to the top of Group B at Euro 2016.
“We sunk too deep as a team and were inviting them on to us,” said Coleman. “To come back was very courageous. We got what we deserved – nothing less than three points. It is a big three points and a great experience.
We got the three points, but more important, in the context of a tournament, was the performance. The players give their best, and when they are at their best we are a good side.
Joe Allen paid tribute to Bale, and praised his World-class ability.
“He’s world-class,” said Allen. “Every time he steps on to the pitch in a Wales shirt he does the business. But I also have to mention the shift he puts in for the team. It would be easy for him to expect us to dig in and work hard while he does his bit up front but he puts in as much effort as the rest of us.”
