However, former Spurs man has admitted that he is very happy at Real Madrid:

“I’ve seen that Bayern link mentioned in the press but it’s only a rumour. The whole squad had a really good relationship with Ancelotti. I’m still in touch with him but there has been no talk whatsoever of a move to Bayern.

“My idea is to remain at the club until my contract expires in 2018. All my future plans are related to Real Madrid and there are no other clubs on my mind. I’m so happy here along with my family. Few players have ended their career here, Zidane being one of the exceptions. I’d like to be one of those players too, but time will tell what the future holds.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid left back Marcelo has praised his teammates, following their 5-1 over Sporting Gijon at the weekend, but suggested there is still room for improvement.

“The result is clear and resounding but we worked a lot. Sporting are a difficult side, they know how to play and we worked well. In our head we are clear about what the manager requests of us, which is playing and having possession in the opponent’s half. We managed to do that and to try and recover the ball as quickly as possible,” the left back said.

“Players are always happy when they win and things turn out well. We are happy and the aim is to improve with every training session and every game in order to win something important this season.”
