Barcelona legend Xavi believes his former teammate Lionel Messi is the best player in the World, ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Luis Suarez.
The Spanish World Cup winner describes Ronaldo, Neymar and Luis Suarez as incredible players, but argued trio is not on the same level of Lionel Messi.

During this time no other player has manage to win Ballon d’Or, with Lionel Messi has received the award for four times, while Cristiano Ronaldo has won for three times, last two years in the row.

There is never ending debate who is best player in the World between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, with Neymar has been tipped to be next big thing after them. The Brazil Captain has been shortlisted for FIFA Player of year for his influential display last season, and spectacular performance this season, while there is strong argument Suarez should had made the cut for final Ballon d’Or selection, instead of Real Madrid star.
Xavi has hailed Ronaldo, Neymar and Luis Suarez, however he thinks Messi is level above them.
“Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Suarez are extraordinary, incredible players, but they are below Messi,” he told Portuguese newspaper Record.
“It is now more difficult to attack and dribble. Players are more physical, there is space to play and Leo gets haggled, creates spaces, scores goals, and makes a difference in every game.”
“I never felt worthy of the prize,” he added. “Many people tell me [I should], but there is Messi, the best footballer in history. It is normal that he won.
“I never had the feeling that I should have won the award.”
