Raul is hoping for Real Madrid return at some point, but says he needs time to explore options following his retirement.

The former Spanish International spent 16 years at his boyhood club, making more than 700 appearances  for Real Madrid in the process and become the most popular player among the fans in the history of Real Madrid.  Raul was all time top scorer for Real Madrid after scoring 323 goals until Cristiano Ronaldo surpassed him.

During his time at Spanish Capital, he led Real Madrid six La-Liga titles and  three Champions League trophies. Since leaving Los Blancos, ex Spanish International played in Schalke,Qatar and the Cosmos.

The Real Madrid legend, who played final game of his career in November,as he fired York Cosmos to victory in NASL Trophy, to end long illustrators football journey in style. Speaking at the event in Chile,  Raul revealed his desire to become manager of Real Madrid one day.

“Coach Madrid? Will I coach Real Madrid? That’s the main question I get asked these days. But I feel that it’s not the right time at present. I’ve yet to secure my coaching badges and I feel there is plenty of time ahead.

“There’s time. Madrid is my home, has given me almost everything. People recognise me for my time at Madrid despite Schalke and Qatar and the Cosmos.

“Madrid is feeling, my passion, my home and probably at some point in the future I can come back.

“Madrid isn’t about one player. There’ve been many people who have worked and still work for Madrid, even anonymously. We must have that whole experience, the legacy that players leave making history.

“We always have to give the maximum, fighting, without surrender, with fair play. We have to continue the values of Madrid, which are important.”
