Real Madrid legend Xabi Alonso says everyone is excited by the appointment of Zinedine Zidane as the head coach of the club.

Spanish international, who spent five seasons at Santiago Bernabéu is excited about the prospect of Zinedine Zidane managing Real Madrid and wish good luck to him. Xabi Alonso was the part of the Real Madrid, which won the Champions League in season 2013-2014 when Frenchman was the assistant manager of Carlo Ancelotti, and former Liverpool man has tipped him to become successful in his new role.
“Everyone is very excited about it,” the 114-time Spain international said.
“I know him, I played against him, I had him as a second coach and wish him great success in his new endeavours.”

The former Real Madrid midfielder has revealed that he is targeting to win Champions League with Bayern Munich, before leaving the Bundesliga outfit.
“I want to win the Champions League with Bayern,” he said. “I would love to be a part of that select club.”
Xabi Alonso is excited to reunite with his ex boss Carlo Ancelotti, who will take the charge of Bayern Munich at the start of next season, but admitted he is sad to see Pep Guardiola leave.
Former Barcelona manager has decided not renew his contract with German giants, which is due to expire at the end of season, and Carlo Ancelotti will replace him.
“I’ve already told my colleagues how good he is,” he said.
“He is a great coach, and has had success with AC Milan and Real Madrid in the Champions League.”
“We all wanted Guardiola to remain,” he added.
