Michel Platini: This Real Madrid forward is not a top player
Suspended UEFA President and France legend Michel Platini has made astonishing claim that Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema is not a top player.
With Real Madrid star International career hanging in the balance, and he could miss Euro 2106, following his alleged involvement in the Sex tape scandal of Mathieu Valbuena. However, Platini reckoned France has enough depth in the squad to coup with the absence of Benzema.

“There’s a good generation [of French players] and a Coach who knows what he’s doing,” he told BeIN Sports.
“Both of these will allow the French team to do well.
“I’m more sceptical about the case of Karim Benzema. There are players who play for big clubs, but you can’t say that Benzema is a top player.

“He’s very good, but the star of Real Madrid is Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Didier Deschamps will decide, but we must let him decide. He has my confidence.
“Euro 2016 is my child, but I still don’t know if I can go. I’m suspended by FIFA. It’s outrageous, a huge injustice. People wanted me to suffer, but things are like this.
“Maybe people didn’t want me to take the reins of world football because that would mean many changes at FIFA. It’s a shame.”
Meanwhile, Zinedine Zidane has told James Rodriguez to learn from his mistakes, after he was caught laughing on the sidelines during Real Madrid Champions league game at Wolfsburg.
“I’d like to avoid it. You learn from these things. It’s an episode that nobody likes, but we have to put it to one side,” he said on Friday.
“It’s difficult. He knows that, he knows that things like this can be picked up in two or three seconds.
“He has to learn from these things. What happened does not have a huge influence on what happens now.”
