Barcelona winger  Neymar revealed that he prefers Lionel Messi’s left foot to Cristiano Ronaldo, and says he  wants to beat Real Madrid rather than joining them.

“I prefer Messi’s left foot to Ronaldo’s right as, while it’s not broken, my right isn’t too bad!” he told UOL.

“[On comparing Messi to Pele], I never saw Pele play.

“What I know about him is from my grandfather, who spoke to me and explained to me how he played.

“This is a difficult question for me because I’ve seen Messi play and had the opportunity to play with him. Either way, Messi and Pele are both geniuses.

“[On whom he preferred between Real Madrid and Manchester City], I’d rather beat Real Madrid before Manchester City.

“Disputing a [Copa] Libertadores is sensational, but the Champions League …

“The first time I heard the anthem on the pitch, I felt a special thrill.

“It was like a video game and the realisation of a childhood dream. Therefore I choose the Champions League.”

James Rodriguez‘s father believes his son is paying the price of being famous, and has accused Spanish press for destroying his confidence.

“[Times like these] are tough and as a parent you want the best for your children,” Wilson Rodriguez told Caracol Radio.

“These are hard times, but that’s football and slumps are normal.

“Big teams are very demanding and there’s little room for forgiveness, but all their players are top professionals and so is James.

“He should be supported in these difficult situations, but I’m calm because this will pass.

“James is very young and still has a great future ahead of him.

“He is now focused on working, working and working and needs to get back up and be strong mentally.

“In the League, there are no opportunities [for the title] left, so [Madrid] must focus on the Champions League and fight for it.”
