Juventus legend talks about three way La-Liga title race

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero says La-liga title race is surprising, and has become very competitive with Real and Atletico chasing Barcelona.

“I’m a little surprised. The current situation is incredible. If someone had told me two weeks ago it was possible Barca would lose seven or eight points or be out of the Champions League I would have said it was impossible,” Del Piero told AS, the publication pointing out the Catalans have in fact dropped more points than he suggests.

“For the kind of team Barca is, and their football. But that is the beauty of sport, an exceptional challenge for teams and La Liga is going to be followed more in the last five games to see what happens. And Real and Atleti are great rivals.”

“The work is amazing and how prepared he was for coaching. It’s very difficult to do what he’s done in so little time. He’s changed the mentality of Madrid, the team and the fans. I wish him the best in La Liga and the Champions League,” Del Piero said of Zizou.

Meanwhile Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres has accused former Real Madrid President Lorenzo Sanz of lack of respect, after he claimed that Real Madrid would easily win Champions league if they face Atletico  in the Final.

“[Sanz] is someone authorised to speak about Madrid,” the striker said at a promotional event on Monday.

“I love the ethos of Atletico, our humility and the euphoria in which we live.

“We have this great dream, but we’re awake and focused on Wednesday in Bilbao, and we’ll have time to solve what comes next.”
