Why Marcelo doesn’t want to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final?
Real Madrid defender Marcelo says he would like to avoid Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final, after they knocked Barca out of the competition.
“[Manchester City] aren’t the weakest team [in the Champions League semi-finals],” he said after the game.
“There are no weak teams. They’ve reached the semi-finals for a reason. They’re as strong as the other teams. Now there’s only the final after this, so there’s no easy games.

“Many people thought what they wanted about us we were 10, nine or seven points behind.
“Those people can lose hope, but our fans were with us and stayed hopeful.
“We received criticism and trained knowing that it was difficult to fight for the League with such a distance.

“Madrid have always had this strength. When you don’t win anything, people can think of many things, but Madrid always fight, even when we’re 15 points behind.
“[On Barca being in bad form], I don’t think they are. One day you’re fine and the next day you’re not.
“[On another Madrid CL final], I’d like another final, yes.”
While, speaking in his post-match interview following Real’s 5-1 win over Getafe, Isco said.
“It was a dangerous match. After the comeback and the great game against Wolfsburg we could have relaxed, but we haven’t done that. We went out fired up and got two goals in the first half and we’re pleased with today’s game. The team performed perfectly, we’re putting pressure on those above us in La Liga and we’re going to compete until the end. We are Real Madrid and we cannot give up.”
“It’s important to have rotation within a team. The competitions are very long and it’s important to keep everyone switched on heading into the end of the season, because it’s difficult to win titles with only eleven players.”
