La Liga president Javier Tebas discusses the idea of European Super League
La Liga president Javier Tebas says he is against the formation of the European Super League.
Speaking to the at a European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL) board meeting, he said.
“We are against the idea of a European Super League,” he said. “It wouldn’t help the development of our own leagues.”
EPFL president Lars-Christer Olsson also echoed same opinion: “We must keep the dream alive for all clubs. At this stage, the EPFL together with all its leagues believe the football stakeholders should focus their efforts to guarantee a better redistribution of wealth among all clubs to create a greater competitive balance in European football.

“The EPFL is ready to play an active role in any discussion with the football family on this respect.”
Former Barcelona and Real Madrid winger Luis Figo has challenged Catalans to overcome the recent slump to win the league.

“What’s happened to Barca isn’t normal. To lose so many games in a row is not logical, but when you’re in that situation, everything goes wrong.
“These are issues in the dynamic, it doesn’t only depend on the quality of players. But the league is open and anything can happen.
“Things get tense and you have less of a margin for error, and that’s when you see the character of teams.”
