French midfielder Paul Pogba names Zinedine Zidane as his childhood saint. Juventus midfielder Pogba, who turned 23 on Tuesday, is viewed as one of the best young players in Europe and will be a key man for France as they offer to win the European Championship on home soil this late spring. The last time France facilitated a significant competition was the 1998 World Cup when Ronaldo’s Brazil was beaten at the last by a Les Bleus XI propelled by Zidane and previous United player names Zinedine Zidane as his childhood legend.

Paul Pogba uncovered the pair (Ronaldo and Zidane) left a blemish on him and had offered him some assistance with becoming the player he is today. “We watched it on TV at home, and I went out in our car a short time later to celebrate with companions and sound our horns,” he said. “Ronaldo is my footballing good example and the player that made me go gaga for football.
