Why Former Real Madrid manager believes club was wrong to sack him?

Former Real Madrid manager Del Bosque says he would have delivered more trophies to the club, if he wasn’t removed from Santiago Bernabeu.

The current Spain’s head coach guided Los Blancos to two La-Liga titles and Champions League, during his four years tenure at Spanish Capital from 1999 to 2003.

“It’s very difficult to win the Champions League,” AS reports Del Bosque saying in an interview with Telediario.

“We had good luck and good players and the situation of the club was favourable.

“Without being conceited or arrogant I think maybe if I had stayed we would have won more European Cups.”

Del Bosque also talked about his side chances of winning Euro2016, who will enter in the European Championship as defending Champions. The Spain boss commented on the situation of former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, Barca’s  Gerard Pique and Athletic Bilbao striker Aduriz.

“The criticisms don’t affect who’ll start,” he said, AS reports,

“Some people are bothered that I speak well of him,” Del Bosque added.

“Sometimes he has a vision better than ours. It’s not on us to correct anyone’s behaviour. Maybe that different conduct is what’s best for him.”

“There isn’t a squad every Sunday,” he cautioned as the campaign to name Aduriz grows with every weekend.

We have plenty of time so that the Federation isn’t left without a leader,” he noted.

“The day I go will be with everything done right.

“The election? I’m aware of what’s happening. The candidacy of Jorge Perez caught my attention but everyone can do what they want.

“I haven’t been able to talk to him. I’ll be respectful to all of them because they have behaved well towards me. I have no problem with anyone.”
