Hart insisted it was the tight game, but he was also critical of Manchester City’s lack of effort in-front of the goal.
“We could easily be in the final but they managed the game well. They got a very lucky goal. They’ve beaten us with a lucky goal,” Hart said post-match, according to the Mirror.

“They created very little over the two legs. So did we. It was a close semi-final and we’ve come out on the wrong side. We defended well when needed. We just didn’t have that little bit more. I thought Kun [Aguero] had announced himself in the 88th minute. It was a good effort. But did we do enough to win the game? I don’t know.
“I don’t think they’ve really created much apart from a few half-chances, corners, set pieces. They’ve scored with a deflected cross. It’s frustrating. On the other hand, we’ve not been knocking at the door working Keylor Navas off his feet. But that’s football – you’ve got to take your chance.
“We’ve given it our all. I don’t think there’s any doubt of that. We’d liked to have obviously given more and nicked a goal. It was very hard when in the last 20 minutes the ball was probably in play about three minutes. It was difficult but that’s a big team and that’s how a big team manages a game and we fell victim to that.”
