Gareth Bale reveals why he joined Real Madrid

Gareth Bale has admitted that he joined Real Madrid to win Champions League, and doesn’t care if goal which knocked out Manchester City is taken away from him.

“It doesn’t matter who scores or whether it’s an own goal or not. The main thing is we have the chance to win the Champions League again. I felt we were close to killing the game off but couldn’t get clear-cut chances,” the Wales international said, the BBC reports, after setting up a re-match from 2014 against Atletico Madrid.

“I feel like I am maturing. My Spanish is getting better and I’m integrating more with the team. I feel like I’ve turned a corner in that sense and I’m enjoying my football here.

“The reason I came to Madrid was to win Champions Leagues. I’ve got one already and I’ve got the chance to win another.”

“Semi-finals are always so tight, no team ever wins by a large margin. The important thing is we scored, didn’t concede and won the game. We’re pleased and excited to be in the final,” he added.

“We managed to stay united and soak up the pressure to try and pull it off,” the defender said after the game, UEFA.com reports.

Meanwhile, Sergio Ramos claims Real Madrid beat a big team to book their place in Champions League Final.

“We’ve eliminated a huge team in City. It has taken a lot to get to the final, but we deserve it.

“After such a difficult season we can now enjoy being in a Champions League final. The team deserved this, and so did the fans, tonight they were like an extra player.

“We will give everything in our souls in another final. The Champions League requires an enormous level of concentration and we have to enjoy this moment now.”
