Sergio Ramos speaks up whether Real Madrid and Barca rivalry will have any impact on Spain’s Euro campaign
Sergio Ramos has insisted that Real Madrid and Barca rivalry never have any impact in Spain’s camp, and has offered his backing to under troubled David de Gea.
During Jose Mourinho’s time in Madrid, El-clasico bacame the feisty affair, and there were claims of division in the Spanish side before the start of Euro 2016, but Real Madrid captain has rubbished those reports.
“[The David de Gea] was a story that wasn’t pleasant. When it affects a teammate in the national team, he has the entire support of the group,” the defender said at a Press conference ahead of La Roja’s Group D opener against Czech Republic on Monday.

“I spoke to him the other day about everything. We really want to have a good tournament.
“[On a new era for Spain], there’s no need to emphasise the difference between other eras.
“We had good players in the past and we have a good-enough group now as well.

“We’ve lived through a good period of success, and the idea is to keep it going.
“We’ve lived through beautiful and bad moments. Sometimes we do not value you can also lose.
“I ask the fans to support us and that, regardless of what happens, we’ll give everything to do our best and leave with our heads held high.
“[On Barcelona and Madrid players linking up], we do so with enthusiasm and fuse together. We all have the same goal, the country unites us and we’ll try to do as best we can.
“After all the controversy [from past Clasicos], we don’t have to be any more united because we’ve always been a great group.
“There’s always been a good atmosphere and we all have the same objectives.”
