Kate Abdo, presenter at January’s Ballon d’Or awards ceremony has revealed Cristiano Ronaldo helped Neymar during the whole proceedings.

“At the Ballon d’Or which I did in January, we do a little rehearsal with the players before they are going to go on stage for real,” Ballon d’Or gala presenter Kate Abdo explained in an interview with Football Beyond Borders.
“He [Ronaldo] came out with Neymar, who is Brazilian and Ronaldo is Portuguese, so they both speak Portuguese, and although Messi and Neymar are team-mates, it was Ronaldo who took him around, showed him where he had to go, made sure everything was translated for him.

Meanwhile, Gerard Pique has named Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba and Robert Lewandowski as the toughest striker he has faced in his whole career.
“He was just very kind and very caring towards Neymar, the way he looked out for him and made sure he knew what he was doing. And that’s a side [of Ronaldo] maybe you don’t expect.”
“One of them was Drogba – one of the best strikers I have seen. He had everything. Pace, really strong, good in the air – he was amazing.
“The other one was Cristiano Ronaldo. I had to face him a lot of times and he’s one of the best players in history. He’s really complete, he knows how to score, assist, shoot free-kicks, penalties. He can do everything.
“Lewandowski is another. He’s tall, can use both legs. It’s really hard to mark this kind of player. You don’t know what they will do.”
“Obviously I’m not saying Lionel Messi, Neymar, Luis Suarez, the ones I have to face every day in training, because you cannot see our ‘battles’,” he added.
