Dani Carvajal is hopeful that  Cristiano Ronaldo return will give major boost, following 0-0 draw at Manchester City.

“It will be decided at the Bernabeu. The game was even, we had more chances but we have to take them. But before the game if they said that we’d go through if we won at the Bernabeu, we’d take that. Our support is there and thanks to them, we will try to reach [the final in] Milan,” the right-back confirmed, according to AS.

Cristiano had discomfort and it was decided he wouldn’t be here for everything that’s to come. We have a very big squad. Lucas came out, and has had a more than notable game,” he said of the winger.

“I believe Cristiano will be back for the return. He’s strong, he has good genetics and I think he will be.”

Meanwhile, Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany believes they can take heart from their display against Real Madrid.

“No, 0-0 is a very dangerous score. If we score in Madrid it’ll be a very different game. 0-0 is a good result, it’s hard to keep a clean sheet against such an attacking team,” he told BT Sport after the match.

“Overall, we can be proud of what we’ve achieved in the first leg of this game, but obviously everything is to be played for next week.

[Hart] had to pull off a few saves but they were mainly on set-pieces and we need to look at that next time and make sure that doesn’t happen.

“I thought we were dangerous on set-pieces as well and it’s too close to call at the moment. We couldn’t have wished for more at this stage. 90 minutes to play for and we’re looking forward to it.”
