Real Madrid head coach Rafael Benitez backs James Rodriguez, after midfielder has been accused of over-speeding by Spanish Police on Friday.

The Police chased former Porto man to Real Madrid’s training ground, with the charges of driving at the speed of 200 kmh. The Colombian International is expected to be fined for the violation of the traffic rules, adding another frustration to his poor season.

James Rodriguez missed the start of the season due to injury, and has struggle get regular place in Rafael Benitez’s starting eleven. The former Monaco man reacted angrily, after he was taken off during  Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Real Sociedad, and has been linked with the move away from the Spanish Capital.

According to English press, Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester are chasing James Rodriguez, who could be tempt to the prospect of playing regular football, after  falling behind in the packing orders at Real Madrid. And as per Daily Independent, Manchester United have open talks with Real Madrid to bring Colombian to Old Trafford.

However, despite of rumors of feud between Rafael Benitez and James Rodriguez, Real Madrid manager has offered his support to the midfielder, when asked about his opinion on the over-speeding incident.

It’s a private matter, he explained to me what happened,” Benitez told a media conference.

“He’s a fantastic kid, a serious kid. He has given us a full explanation.”

Isco is another player, who has struggle to get regular action, speaking about him Benitez said.

“I cannot play all of my players,” Benitez added. “When one stops playing you always ask me why.

“Yesterday I was chatting to him, he trained very well.”
