Karim Benzema has responded to French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls, who criticized Real Madrid striker for not setting good example.

As it remains unclear whether Karim Benzema will return to French side to represent the Country in the Euro 2016, following his alleged involvement in Mathieu Valbuena sex tape scandal.

“A great athlete should be an example for young people,” Valls reportedly said, according to AS.

“I’m not the President of the France Football Federation nor am I Didier Deschamps [France Coach]. He has to pick the best team possible.

“But I don’t think the conditions are right for Benzema to return to the France team. Football isn’t only for the fans. It’s our heritage. Every gesture is important.”
