Gareth Bale speak about Zidane amid Real Madrid exit talk

Gareth Bale has backed  Zinedine Zidane  “to be a great coach”, and has rubbished the rumors of his Real Madrid exit.

The Welshman gifted Zinedine Zidane perfect debut, as he bagged hat-trick in Real Madrid 5-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday. In his post-match interview Gareth Bale insisted that he has the same freedom under Zinedine Zidane, he used to have during the short spell of Rafael Benitez.

Since the sacking of  Rafael Benitez, there were suggestions that Real Madrid winger is left disappointed with the exit of former Liverpool and willing to consider his future under new management. Much of the pre-match talk was centered to the Gareth Bale’s unhappiness and has been linked with premier League return.

“I don’t feel I need to make a statement. I just want to play my football.

“I’m very happy that we got the three points and it was a very important victory,” he said after the game.

“We had a good game. Now we must continue working hard and winning games.

“Everyone knows Zidane was a great player and I’m sure he’ll also be a great Coach, but we’re all professionals and we work hard to try to win every match and every trophy.

“We must continue in this way, as we did before. Nothing has changed and [Saturday] was no different.

“These things happen [regarding Rafa Benitez’s dismissal]. We must move forward.

“It wasn’t my decision and I don’t have an opinion.”

While his teammate Luka Modric has suggested that Real Madrid were right to sack Rafael Benitez.

I’m sorry for Rafa and I’d like to thank him for his work, but to be honest, taking this game into account, I think the change has been good,” he said after the game.

“When you lose, someone always has to pay, but to be honest, you just have to compare this match with our last one.”
