Former Real Madrid sporting director Arrigo Sacch says Rafa Benitez struggle at Real Madrid is due to his inability to make connection with Florentino Perez and fans.

Real Madrid fans and players were not happy  with the appointment of  Rafa Benitez  as the head coach of the Los Blancos, as they wanted Carlo Ancelotti to continue at Santiago Bernabeu.

During the first season in charge, Carlo Ancelotti led the club to the Champions League glory and Copa Del rey title, but unsuccessful campaign of 2014-2015, which saw Barcelona dominating domestic and European arena, result in the sacking of former Chelsea boss.

Senior member of Real Madrid squad including Cristiano Ronaldo were not in favor of  Carlo Ancelotti ‘s sacking and reportedly protested against it.

Since taking the charge of Real Madrid,  Rafa Benitez struggle to get along with players, while fans are not fully convinced with the tactical approach of Spaniard.

And Arrigo Sacch believes, apart from his troubles with players, Benitez failed to win over the fans and endured non existent connection with Florentino Perez.

“The connection between the fans and Benitez hasn’t been born, nor has the connection with Perez. Madrid is a group of stars but not always a team.
