You probably still remember how, a few months ago, Ronaldo was in the news for throwing away a reporter’s microphone into the pool. In case you do not remember the incident, let’s refresh your memory: Cristiano Ronaldo was pestered by a reporter during a Portugal team stroll, about the possibility of elimination at the group stage of Euro 2016, and the prospect of the team in the tournament, and it angered Ronaldo so much that he snatched the mic from the reporter, and threw it into the nearest lake. Yes, it’s true. It was confirmed by Portuguese TV channel CMTV that two divers had recovered the mic from the lake, and would be auctioned off for charity. The mic met with its poor fate when CMTV’s reporter, Diego Torres, started irritating Ronaldo begore a Euro clash against Hungary. The mic, which was practically wrestled out of the hands of the reporter, and then thrown into its death – quite literally – by Ronaldo, is going to be sold to the highest bidder.

The proceeds from selling off the token of Ronaldo’s anger will help disabled children in Ronaldo’s city of birth, i.e. Funchal in Madeira, which recently received huge help from the player after a forest fire threatened it. Ronaldo, who is mostly portrayed by the media as an angry man, has often been known to get into spats and arguments with the media. And we think it is justified, because, despite his talents, amazing skills show, charitable works, etc., media loves to portray him in the dark light. Needless to say, the mic-throwing incident became a huge issue, too.

But, thankfully, it was understood that Ronaldo, the captain of Portugal, who was under a lot of pressure at that time, was not really at fault, when he refused to tolerate such questions, and retaliated by sending the poor mic to an untimely death. Besides, the whole issue has been turned into something positive with the auction of the mic for charity.
