Former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo‘s success is down to his talent and professionalism.

Ancelotti, who had the chance to manage the Portuguese at Real Madrid has hailed him as one of the best player in the past decade. During Italian two years-spell at Real Madrid, he formed the strong bound with former Manchester man, explain that he found it hard to be not impressed with  work-ethic and the dedication of the Portuguese International.

“Ronaldo’s a fantastic player,” Ancelotti told Goal. “It was a pleasure to be his manager for two years. We had a fantastic relationship – not only as a player, but as a person.

“He’s a really, really serious and professional player. He’s focused every single day, every single match, every single training [session].

“The professionalism of Cristiano helps him to be at the top. He has spent a long time at the top and the reason is because he’s really, really professional and – of course – really talented.

While, Gareth Bale says his struggle last season has made him better player, and revealed he has overcome his injury woes.

“Last season I didn’t play to anywhere near to my potential. It was important for me to keep working hard, to keep fighting. It is difficult playing in a foreign country. I’ve felt more settled, more involved in the team this year and I think that has shown in performances on the pitch.

It’s good to have a bad season, you really do learn a lot about yourself and I feel this season I took (what happened) last season on board. I understand the game a lot more over here and hopefully there is a lot still more to come in the future.”
