Mayoral is set to join Wolfsburg on a season long loan in the search of first team football.

“I spoke to Zinedine Zidane this week and it was clear I was leaving. He told me to enjoy the experience, get the minutes and have the chance to return to Madrid. I talked to Carvajal too. He said Germany is a good League, the Bundesliga is a very good competition and he said the same as Zizou, enjoy it and take the chance, that’s the goal,” Mayoral noted, AS reports.

“Hopefully I can return. I have to work and start well at Wolfsburg. It’s clear that I’ll be working with the idea of returning. I’m living a dream, what I’ve wanted since I was a child, since I joined the cantera. I wanted to be with the best and to enjoy every session. Now I’m looking forward to growing even more.

“Morata is another example, it’s true. He’s a similar case to mine, and here he is, back. If Carvajal and Morata can do it, I can too.

“It’d be amazing to be Madrid’s No 9 in five years. But I’m keeping my feet in the present. I’ll go little by little in the Bundesliga and if I’m a European champion with Madrid in five years and I’ve lifted more trophies, it would be a dream.

“Madrid has taught me many things. I’ll be eternally grateful for what they have given me. It’s my home, so I insist I want to come back. I haven’t had time to say goodbye to my teammates. I’ve seen the Bundesliga and it’s a good League to adapt and gain experience.”
