Carlo Ancelotti has warned Real Madrid that Atletico Madrid are worst possible team to face in the Champions League final, and Los Blancos can’t afford to make mistake against them.

“It’ll be a very intense and hard-fought match,” the Bayern Munich boss-elect wrote in his column for Sina Sports.

“Atletico Madrid are [Real’s] worst-possible rivals. Atletico only need half a mistake to kill you.

“Not only [are Atleti the worst rivals for Real] because they’ve consecutively eliminated Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but because in clashes between the two teams in recent seasons, Atletico Madrid have created them many problems.

“It wasn’t long ago that Atletico defeated Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“Only if they are all committed to defending can Real Madrid minimise the errors possibly exploited by Simeone and his players.

“They must learn how to respond to [Atleti’s high pressing] and can do so by constantly driving the ball up-field and improving their passing accuracy.”

However, Lucas Vazquez Real Madrid will easily win the Champions League if they play on their level.

We have to play a complete game and take the chances we have. They’re very good defensively but we know that already and if we’re at our level, we win,” he said, AS reports.

“We’re already looking forward to the match. We’re preparing with joy and enthusiasm and a desire to win. The less you think about the importance of the match, the less pressure you’ll feel.

“It’s a pleasure to train under Zinedine Zidane. We saw him as a great player and can learn from him every day. He’s also a modern Coach because most exercises are with the ball. It shows he knows what players like and he wants us to enjoy football as he did.

“It’s an honour to represent the Madrid cantera in the Champions League Final, the biggest thing there is at club level. I’m very happy about that. My teammates have helped me a lot. I’m very grateful to them. I’ve been treated very well and they have looked after me.”
