Florentino Perez is targeting Barcelona ace Neymar as Cristiano Ronaldo replacement, according Catalan based newspaper Sport.

Florentino Perez is confident that he can convince Neymar to follow the footsteps of Luis Figo, to join Real Madrid from the Barcelona, with La-Liga Champions could be force to sell one of their star player due to financial difficulties. With Lionel Messi most likely to remain central to Barcelona for years to come, Neymar could be tempt of the prospect of becoming main man at Santiago Bernabéu once Cristiano Ronaldo leaves. The former Santos man is expecting to extend his contract with Barcelona, but hinted a move away from the Camp Nou in recent interview.

However, Luis Enrique completely denied Brazilian international exit talks, as he is hopeful that Neymar will sign new deal with the club.

“Those are just parts of the typical football rumour mill,” he told reporters.

“I’ve always said in these situations, especially after seeing them train yesterday [Monday] and today [Tuesday], that everyone looks fresh and hungry and ambitious,” he added.

“I don’t think we could be any better. I won’t be extremely optimistic but I see them on the right path at the end of the year.

“We’ll see if we can convert that into performances on the pitch.”
