According to the report, Real Madrid are worried about Bale’s persistent injury woes, which is keeping him on the sidelines for the larger part of this season.

“The publication claim “a section of the Real hierarchy are beginning to weigh up the option of selling the Welshman this summer.”

“However his agent Jonathan Barnett said: “It’s a completely rubbish story made by an irresponsible and totally ill-informed journalist.”

“According to AS, Bale has broken down 11 separate times since his world record £85m move to Madrid from Tottenham in 2013.”

Bale is stepping up his progress, but has been ruled out from the Madrid derby,  with  Karim Benzema and defender Pepe are doubtful,  according to Madrid’s latest club statement.

“Real Madrid held the first training session for the week as they begin to prepare for the derby against Atletico, this Saturday at the Santiago Bernabeu (4:00 p.m. CET),” the statement said.

Gareth Bale's agent comments on the claims of Real Madrid wants to sell winger in the summer “Zidane called up Martin Odegaard and Marcos Llorente from Real Madrid Castilla in a session where ball work was the focus. After the warm up, the Whites worked on some combinations playing off the first touch before moving on to a variety of possession and pressing games. The session ended with crossing and finishing on goal. Benzema, [Luka] Modric, [Dani] Carvajal and Isco trained inside while Pepe and Bale continue with their recovery process. Both players were out on the field doing various exercises.”
