Kiko Casilla, one of the best Real Madrid goalkeeper who has not appeared in any league game since the start of this season, made his 2016 La Liga debut this Saturday against Eibar. It is a reward for the good work, which Zidane has seen from coaching the first team and the Catalan deserved a chance that he finally had. Real Madrid first choice goalkeeper Keylor Navas is also in good form this season however with an important game coming mid-week Zidane opted to rest him and give a chance to Kiko.

It is an award for the good work being done by the keeper, despite the goal post being well covered by one of the best Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas. The Catalan’s daily effort is there and although Costa Rica is almost untouchable, Zidane has found a way to give a chance to Kiko.

The game against Eibar was the first of former Espanyol goalkeeper since the Frenchman took over the first team last January and, therefore, their first meeting so far this year. Four months and one day after his last game with Real Madrid, Kiko returned to defend the white goal and helped leaving it to zero, helping the team earn three points that mess pressure to Barcelona ahead of their visit to Anoeta.
The first game Kiko Casilla played this season came against Liverpool last October 31 (3-1) in League match. A week later, at the Sanchez Pizjuan (3-2) he again held the charge. The former Espanyol then had to cover the loss of Keylor Navas, who was a couple of weeks off the team.
