Zinedine Zidane has admitted that Real Madrid re the favourites in their Champions League semi-final tie with Manchester City, but has warned that premier league side are not pushovers.

“Real Madrid are always the favourites and that’s no different in the semi-final against Manchester City,” Zidane said at a media conference.

“But City are a great team. I do not want to hear people say Manchester City will be an easy opponent. People also said Wolfsburg were not a strong team and we saw what happened.

“I see City as a strong opponent, just like Roma and Wolfsburg were difficult rivals.

“The positive thing is that we play the return at home. It will be a balanced tie.

Meanwhile, Manchester City manager and former Real Madrid boss has insisted that he is not targeting revenge against 10-times Champions league winners, as he was sacked just after one season by Florentino Perez.

“It’s not an extra motivation.

“The motivation is to play in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

“It’s a difficult draw. It doesn’t matter which of the three we had to play [Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid make up the four semi-finalists] it was going to be difficult.
