Zidane comments on Gareth Bale’s display, following Rayo Vallecano win

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane says Gareth Bale‘s display in thier Saturday’s comeback win against Rayo Vallecano was phenomenal, and revealed Ronaldo will be fit to face Manchester City.

“I’m very happy for him,” Zidane said. “He is very happy to make the difference. We needed him today and he was phenomenal. He played really well besides the goals. Gareth needed a bit of time. Physically he is well, he played 90 minutes. Gareth did fantastic work. Physically he grew stronger in the game.”

“It’s not a blow,” Zidane said. “We have to assess him. We will examine him and see what he has. I hope it’s nothing and he can play on Tuesday but right now I can’t tell you.”

“Cristiano is well,” Zidane said. “He will travel of course.”

“We fought hard,” he said. “It’s a difficult game. In the first 15 minutes we had difficulties but the game lasts 90 minutes. We started badly but we finished strongly. It’s a boost for the Champions League.

“To go two down is not easy but we showed that even after conceding we can come back. Above all the players had the patience when things were not going well — and then we know we have players of quality that can make the difference.”

MLS Vice-President Lino DiCuollo has revealed that clubs are trying to sign former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

It’s true that our clubs have been in contact with Iker’s agents,” DiCuollo told Maisfutebol.

“I don’t know if a deal will be closed for next season, but our desire is for that to happen as soon as possible.

The legend goalkeeer has fallen behind in the packing order, as  Coach Jose Peseiro confirmed.

“In order to prevent further speculation, it has been decided that Helton will be the goalkeeper in our next League game and alternate with Casillas until the end of the season because [Casillas] needs minutes for the Portuguese Cup, given he’s our goalkeeper in that tournament,” the trainer stated.
