“He’s the best player of all time! I’ve said it many times and it’s not just because he’s a friend of mine. Everyone knows we are very close. I say it because I’ve seen how hard he works, every training session, every match, even off the pitch, at home, the way he prepares himself and takes care of himself. There are no words to describe Cristiano Ronaldo. There’s no doubt he’s the player who impresses me the most.”

Coentrão is convinced that Portugal have enough qualities in their squad to win the European Championship.
“I see Portugal as favourites. I know my teammates and I think they have many qualities. All of the teams involved in the Euros are competitive. We know it will be tough and very complicated. But we want to go as far as we can. If you ask me whether I think we can win the tournament, I’d say yes, I think we can win Euro 2016.
While defender lauded Real Madrid decision to appoint Zidane as the head coach of the club, and says his relationship with the Los Blancos will going to be key for his success.
“Zidane is a good choice for Real. He knows the club well, having played there for several seasons. And if I’m not mistaken, he’s been coaching La Castilla for three years and was assistant for the first team for a year. He knows the club and the players at Real very well. He has everything to do a good job at Real Madrid.”
