Sergio Ramos has warned Real Madrid fans after they booed Cristiano Ronaldo, that it will not force the club to sell the Portuguese in the summer.

The Portuguese, who scored four goals over the weekend against   Celta, settled the nerves by netting’s Real Madrid first in the Champions League in their 2-0 win over Roma on Tuesday, but again he was subject of whistles of home fans.

“I would tell the fans to think a little first,” Ramos told Spanish newspaper Marca. “I respect them but when things don’t go well they should support their players because we all want the best for Real Madrid.

“He’s a historic player for Real Madrid, he keeps proving that year after year, look at what he’s achieved.

“When the fans at the Bernabéu boo you it is because they want to transmit their demands to you, they want to push us and see the best performance from us.”

While Real Madrid captain revealed that he visited Roma dressing room after the match to see Francesco Totti, and also acknowledge the contribution of Casemiro to provide defensive assurance.

“I went in [to the Roma locker room] because I wanted a signed shirt and for me it’s something to be proud of, I’ve admired him since I was a child,” Ramos confirmed.

“He gave me his shirt and signed it to me as well.”

“In that sense it’s true that he helps us a lot.”
