Sergio Ramos on why Real Madrid deserve to be in Champions League final
Sergio Ramos believes Real Madrid deserve to be in Champions League final, and has praised Zidane for bringing positive approach in the dressing room.
“I think we deserve to be in the final in Milan,” the defender told UEFA.com.
“To be honest, it’s been a bumpy road. We passed the group stage playing against big teams like PSG.”

He continued, “We had a bad match in Wolfsburg, but we managed a great comeback at home. After that, we eliminated a top team, Manchester City, in the semi-finals.
“[Atletico] have knocked out some top teams and we know they’re in good shape.
“We expect a tough match with a lot of intensity, and we have to be totally focused because I think a final is often decided by small details.
“For me, the most important thing is that we defend well as a team.”

He further added, “In attack, we’re lucky to have great players with great quality, who can make things happen and score at any time. We have to play more than ever as a team and defend well.
“I have a good feeling, we had a great end to the season and reached our objective of stringing together a winning streak with Zidane.
“We’ve achieved a good balance in the team and there’s a great atmosphere. I believe that we’re in our best form of the season.”
I only have positive words to describe Zidane since his arrival, not only for what he did, what he represents and the time we spent together as teammates, but also as a Coach.
“Despite having little time [at the helm], he’s led the team through an important period, when we could still win the League and the Champions League.
“He’s very involved and the great player he was, he’s also shown that as a Coach.
“We try to implement the ideas he had as a player. We’ve found an excellent balance in our game and he’s bringing out the best of each player.
“Our team spirit is excellent, and reaching the final is a reward for the hard work and commitment we’ve shown after a tough season.”
