Ronaldo will not play vs MUFC in UEFA Super Cup on Aug 8

Cristiano Ronaldo will not be seen representing his team, Real Madrid, in the UEFA Super Cup match against Manchester United on August 8, 2017. The Real Madrid star has had a busy season, as the player represented his team in 13 Champions League matches, at the end of which, the player led his team to secure the title. This made the Spanish team the first team to retain the title, winning it twice, back-to-back.

After that, Ronaldo joined his national team, Russia, to play in the Confederations Cup, and played for the team all the way up to the semifinal match of the tournament. He then returned to join his family, for a much-needed break, and to meet his newly born twin boys. At the moment, he is enjoying some rest and relaxing time with his family.

Meanwhile, some bitter discussions are also going on, with the player in the centre of it all. The player has been accused of tax evasion by the Spanish authorities, and the final verdict will be given after his case is presented in the court on the 31st of July.

As the Spanish paper, Marca, claims, the clash against Ronaldo’s former club, MUFC, on the 8th of August, will be too soon for the player after his packed season and all that he is having to deal with, and is probably going to skip the match against Barcelona, as well. He has also skipped the US tour with his team, and has stayed back with his family.

It is likely that Ronaldo will be back to training with his team in August. The club’s manager, Zinedine Zidane, wants the player to complete at least ten days of training before he can join the rest of the team on the field in a match. The UEFA Super Cup is not generally considered among the most coveted titles. The game is nothing more than just a precursor to the domestic season.

The question of Ronaldo’s retirement keeps coming up before the beginning of every season, even though Ronaldo keeps proving himself time and again, showing the world that he still has a lot of football left in him. However, his retirement is once again a topic of discussion at the moment.

That is probably why Ronaldo’s dominating presence is not mandatory for Real Madrid. If Ronaldo misses this match, this will probably be his final chance to face his former club. The two clubs might come face to face in the Champions League, though that will totally be dependent on luck, of course.
