An automatic starer at his previous club, Kiko Casilla has struggled to get into Real Madrid first-eleven and has to settle for second choice goalkeeping spot behind Keylor Navas.
Since moving to his boyhood club, Casilla is finding it hard to get regular playing time under his belt, which could eventually affect his chances to represent Spain in Euros.
Former Espanyol shot-stopper was closer to break into Vicente del Bosque’s squad, after establishing himself as one of best goalkeeper in the Spanish top flight, but since moving to Real Madrid, it has been different story for Casilla.

However, speaking to Spanish publication AS, Casilla insisted that he has no regrets after moving to Real Madrid, and has vowed to earn his place in the starting lineup.
“It’s true that you have to make sacrifices but that’s always going to be the case when the best club in the world comes calling. I grew up in the youth categories here and I wanted to return. My personal assessment is that there’s no price on being at the best club in the world.
“I knew it would be difficult. When you’re at the biggest club in the world you know that not everything will be a bed of roses. I knew it would be tough – we have one of the best squads and the manager is the one who decides. But I can honestly say that even not playing you still learn so much being here.”
