Cedric Soares has revealed Cristiano Ronaldo‘s half time team talk was crucial to Portugal‘s win over France in the final of Euro 2016.
Ronaldo’s involvement was cut short after he suffered sprained knee ligaments in the first half of the game, and left the pitch in the tears.
But, it didn’t stop Real Madrid star to motivate his teammates from the the sidelines, as Portugal won their first major trophy.

Soares told the reporters, Ronaldo said in his half time team talk he have complete belief in them and they can mange to win without his presence on the pitch.
Team-mate Cedric Soares said: At half-time, Cristiano had fantastic words for us. He gave us a lot of confidence and said, ‘listen people, I’m sure we will win, so stay together and fight for it’. It was really unbelievable.
Portugal boss Fernando Santos added: Him being in the dressing room and on the bench was very important for us. He believed – just like myself – that it was going to be our night.”
Meanwhile, Ryan Giggs has said that he laughed when he saw Ronaldo turning John O’Shea inside out, when he was a Sporting player.
And Manchester United legend revealed all the players were told by Alex Ferguson he has finalized the deal for Ronaldo.
“You see Ronaldo get the ball, and you see him turn John O’Shea inside out, and you’re having a little giggle to yourself,” Giggs was quoted as saying by ITV on Monday.
“He just lit up the game, all the lads were talking to him after the game and I remember we were waiting on the coach and everybody was wondering what we were waiting for,” he said.
“And then we just got a little whisper that the deal was being done for 13 million pounds.”
