Real Madrid’s head of PR Emilio Butragueno  refused to offer assurance over the future of  Rafa Benitez, following their were held by Valencia on Sunday, as he has been sacked by the club on Monday evening.

Rafa Benitez’s position at Santiago Bernabéu remains uncertain during his short spell at the club, and it was  certain he has to pay the price following yet another disappointing result for Real Madrid as they drew with Valencia 2-2 away from home on Sunday. Despite of failing to win another big game this season,  Real Madrid showed their character, after going 10-men with Mateo Kovacic shown red card in the second half. Emilio Butragueno, who insisted in his previous interview that he has complete confidence in Rafa Benitez, refused to back him, which make the announcement of former Liverpool manager sacking just matter of time

Speaking to media after the match, former Real Madrid player said:

“We weren’t given a penalty [on Gareth Bale], but in the next phase of play, [Valencia] drew level with a penalty,” he said after the game.

“We began the second half in control, even with 10 men. We were closer to victory than Valencia.

“It’s true that they had a great chance in the final minute, but I think the team deserved something more. It’s a shame we didn’t get the win.
