Cristiano Ronaldo reveals he is very happy at Real Madrid, and he is planning to stay at club  beyond the age of 40.

Previously,  Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from  Santiago Bernabeu, but Real Madrid are ready to offer new deal to their all time top scorer to fend off the interest from the likes of PSG and his former club Manchester United.

The Portugal spoke to AS before joining national team which will head to France for Euros.

“I’m super happy to have won La Undecima and now I’m thinking about the Euros. We want to give great joy to Portugal by winning it, which is something the Portuguese people deserve,” Ronaldo said.

“I’m going to retire at Madrid when I’m over 40. I’m very happy here and I work hard to achieve that.”

Portugal head coach Fernando Santos believe that having Ronaldo in the team will make them a team to be feared in the Euros, he was speaking to the media after his side 1-0 loss in the hands of England.

“As everybody knows, Portugal is considered one of the high-risk teams due to the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo,” he said.

“But we are prepared for this. In reality, this will be the responsibility of the French security.

“Our fans will have to understand that at certain moments we won’t be able to release our players as we would like.”

For sure Cristiano is important for us,” said Santos.

“I have a good squad, especially in attack, but it was a different match because it was a friendly and we were playing with 10 men.

“It’s always difficult with 10 men, especially against England in this atmosphere.

“Alves apologised to the group after the match. It was a strong tackle, but it’s not going to happen again.”
