Cristiano Ronaldo has played down his injury fears, and has insisted he will be fit to start in the Champions League final.

“I had a problem in training, a bocadillo [big bruise] as they say in Spain. But I’ll be fine tomorrow or the day after,” Ronaldo told reporters, according to AS.

“I’m calm, we’re training well. I’m sure we’ll be prepared. We’re fine, we’re on the right track. We ended the League well. We want to win on Saturday to define the season.”

“Records are a natural consequence. It would be nice to equal or surpass it but they come naturally, I’m not obsessed. The most important thing is to win. The record is still mine whether I score or not. It’s not important. I’d love to score, but if not then someone else and we win the Champions League,” he insisted.

“The season started regularly and got better and better and ended excellently. There was a problem, but it happens after 4,000 minutes. I ended in good condition. I feel good, ready, and I’ll be at my best level on Saturday.”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid Coach Zinedine Zidane has lauded  Diego Simeone as one of the greatest manager in the World.

“Simeone does a great job. He’s one of the great coaches in the world. He knows football very well and his team. He knows what to do to reach a final. He had a lot of character as a player and does as a coach. Mostly I would emphasise how well he knows his players,” Zidane said, AS reports.

“It’s two months since we lost to Atletico in the League. We’ve worked well since then. Losing a final is difficult. At this moment we don’t think about losing [to Atletico], just what we can do to win. I wish it was Saturday already.

“I’m happy and excited. The feelings are mixed. What I can say is I am very lucky to share this with the players. I have a lot to learn but the desire to learn is tremendous. I’ll improve, I’m convinced. But I have a lot to learn to be a great coach.”
