Cristiano Ronaldo is not arrogant, says Quaresma
Portugal insists his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo is not arrogant and has been misunderstood.
Quaresma and Ronaldo played together at Sporting Lisbon, where they became close friends.
After leaving Sporting Ronaldo joined Manchester United and established himself as one of the best player in the World.

However, Real Madrid star is often accused of being self-centred and arrogant, and often being criticized for chasing individual glory.
Quaresma, who knows Ronaldo from the very earlier days of his career believes that his Portuguese teammate has wrongly perceived as proud, and admire his leadership qualities.
“[Ronaldo] is a person who likes to play. He’s not as arrogant as people paint,” the Besiktas man told Jornal de Noticias.

“And he is a great captain. A person who’s always ready to help our colleagues.
“I have admired him since we started playing at Sporting because already as kids he showed his strength.
“Sometimes I played with him and [it was] said: ‘you’re small, you’re skinny, you won’t be able to get there’.
“And Cristiano was going into the bathrooms to fill buckets and do weights with buckets. He is a person who never let himself go down for anything or anyone.”
Quaresma was also asked about the instant reacation of Portugal team, following the injury of Ronaldo which forced him out during the final of Euro 2016, and how to cope with the situation to went on winning against France.

“But the truth is that we gave a good answer and he did not fail to support his colleagues.
