Chris Coleman highlights the difference between Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo

Chris Coleman feels Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo are completely different players, as they have different personalities and character.

With Real Madrid duo will lock horn in Euro 2016’s semi final on Wednesday, build-up to the match is dominated by the talks of Ronaldo and Bale.

With Ronaldo has achieved more in his career than Bale, Wales manager doesn’t think that his star man has anything to prove as he already has shown his quality at Euros.

“I don’t think Gareth will look at this and think he has to impress anyone because of who the opposition is,” said Coleman.

“Remember where he’s been, the games he has played, the stages he has played in. He has won two Champions League titles.

“Gareth will see this as another big test for him and his country.

“Whoever is on the pitch is in our way, and we have to find a route past them. That’s the way he will look at it.

“I could work my defenders for the next month, drilling them about Cristiano Ronaldo, but he has the capability to do something special. That’s the danger.

“But we have got one in our team. It balances itself out.”

They are obviously different types of people and different characters,” said ex-Fulham boss Coleman.

“Whatever Bale brings to the table for us, that’s him. He’s not manufactured, he doesn’t try to be something he’s not.

“To be fair to Cristiano, if that’s his personality, that’s him being him. He’s not trying to be something he’s not.

Gareth is just a nice guy, a nice human being, a family guy from Cardiff.

“He’s livelier on the pitch than off it because he doesn’t say a lot.

“He’s very much one of the lads. He’s quiet, unassuming – that’s just his personality.

“People have a certain idea in their head about footballers and sometimes we don’t always help ourselves.

“But Gareth is a nice guy, he is not trying to facilitate a celebrity lifestyle. He just loves being on the pitch.”
