Andre Gomes reveals how Cristiano Ronaldo reacted to his Barcelona move
Andre Gomes has revealed that his Portuguese teammate Cristiano Ronaldo has congratulated him on his move to Barcelona.
Gomes was tipped to sign for Real Madrid, but Barca came out of nowhere to beat Los Blancos for his signature, and former Valencia man has revealed Ronaldo has no issue with him joining Barca.

“I talked to Cristiano Ronaldo, he congratulated me and the truth is that I’m happy [he did],” he told TV3.
“But now I’ll resume being Cristiano’s rival as I was before, when I was at Valencia. There are no friendships on the pitch.
“I have time to be with him in the national team, but now what I want more than anything is to enjoy [playing alongside] Messi.

“[Andres] Iniesta is a reference for me in every way. I’ll love watching him every day and I’ll learn from him.”
“The competition here isn’t a problem. It’s very important. What I want is to learn. I’m 22 and it’d be wrong if I thought I was Messi. The most important thing is to learn and enjoy.
“I’m here to adapt as soon as possible. All the midfielders are great players, there’s no need to say the names. It’ll take work and sacrifice.”
While Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu has hailed Gomes as a good signing for a club.
“Andre Gomes is a new Barca player, he is a ‘crack’ on the world level and we’re happy he has accepted this challenge and come to play at our club,” Sport quotes Bartomeu as saying.
“The technical secretary had followed him for a long time. We want to welcome Andre to Camp Nou and especially his family. His father is a long-time Barca fan and that’s also why we’re happy for his arrival. We’re very pleased you’re with us.”
