Former Real Madrid  sporting director Jorge Valdano believes Los Blancos are over reliant on Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese international surpass club legend Raul to become top scorer in the history of Real Madrid, and was crucial to Los Blancos’s  La Decima success.

The former Manchester United man has scored 33 goals in 31 games in all competitions, and inspired Real Madrid to important away win at Roma in the Champions League.

However, previously Ronaldo has come under the severe criticism for failing to score against the better oppositions, but Valdano feels without Portuguese, Real Madrid will struggle as a team, as they heavily rely on his star power.

“Real Madrid are heavily reliant on Cristiano and this is not helpful for the balance in the team,” Valdano told Cadena Ser.

“Madrid are only at their best when Cristiano is at his best.

“It has been like this for the past five years or so.

“Madrid are a team with a lot of talent, but there are too many players who want the ball at their feet.”

While, Radja Nainggolan has said that he is satisfied with the display of Roma, despite of losing to Real Madrid 2-0

“We played well in the first half and gave away few chances,” the Belgian midfielder declared after the match. “The difference was that we went away with nothing and they took everything.”
