Gareth Bale says says he is very happy, after becoming British goal-scorer in Spanish football in Real Madrid victory over Sevilla on Sunday.
The Welsh international surpassed former Barcelona and England striker Gary Lineker, to become most prolific British player in Spain.

“I just found out that I’m now the top British goalscorer in Spanish League history, and I’m very happy,” the forward said after the game.
“Setting this record is a joy, and now the most important thing is to improve on it.
“We must go on, keep up this pace and improve so we can go far in the Champions League.
“Wolfsburg will be a difficult game, but we’re high on confidence and we want to do as best as possible.

“[On Karim Benzema], it’s good news for Benzema [that he scored] and to have a full squad available.
“[The fans] see we’re working hard and improving, and hopefully we can give them a trophy at the end of the season.
“[On the international break], I’ll stay here with the other players to train for the next two weeks and regain my best form as soon as possible.
“We knew it would be tough [against Sevilla], but we played very well and now we must continue like this.”

“Talks over a new contract are yet to take place, but Real are willing to increase Bale’s £300,000-a-week salary and underline his position as the club’s number one star ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, whose future remains the subject of great debate.
“Bale will once again be targeted by all of England’s richest clubs, as well as Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, this summer but Real want to move to end any chance of the 26-year-old leaving the Bernabeu.
